Mila Hajjar,
arquitecto y artista y a Martha
Power,
fotógrafa. El tema de la naturaleza,
literatura y arte entrelazados

June brought us as Special Guests: Mireya Pérez Power,
artists and Art teacher, Mila Hajjar, architect and artist and Martha Power,
photographer. The theme was nature, literature and art intertwined to create
conscience so people can take care of our planet. They have been working on this for a long
time now. Mireya explained that with artistic floating cubes, created with
materials that protect the environment, they have had over a million children
and adults participating one way or another as the communities are educated
through art. For example, the writer writes about the theme and the poems, or
prose, are handed out in the presentations or place on the cubes, the same with
the visual artists. They go to schools so children participate as well and
conscience is made. Emilio Antonio is a
young man that composed the music “Earth and Water” for this project and the
musical piece is played as the floating cubes are placed on the water reminding
all that the environment is as fragile as a butterfly.
It was a great presentation, it is a great project that creates conscience
in all.
